Federico Gutierrez as presidential candidate says that votes can only be won on the street. Plus, less than 32 days before the first presidential round , in which he is expected to play a significant role and compete with Gustavo Petro, his main rival, the quota for the House of Narino in an likely second round.
Gutierrez set out early Saturday morning for Boyaca. Boyaca was a religious community that Petro went to on Friday. Former mayor of Medellin was in the process of running for president of the center-right. He went to Tunja and spoke with farmers, academics, peasants and businessmen.
Fico attended the Tunja Convention Center where he assembled a significant crowd of people, who voted with him in the May 29’s elections.
Federico shared ruana, and hundreds of colombians behind his choice for the Team for Colombia. Federico also posted his Twitter video in which he praised Tunja’s citizens. Federico wrote: “We are Going to Be Winners, We All, go for presidency to bring about change and unity in Colombia.” While recording a variety of people who have voted for him but he was not stopping.
“Happy in Boyaca!” By bringing us closer, as the president of the nation, we will achieve an orderly country with opportunities; a country where dreams are fulfilled,” he wrote.
The second-placed candidate in the polls, the pointer, went to the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Chiquinquira. It is a place that has many faithful and their followers travel from different parts of the country every weekend. The center-right leader kneeled before the Virgin and was surrounded by his faithful and followers who were waiting for the early morning Eucharist.
“I asked the Virgin for wisdom. He told me that he asked for his help to my family as well as for all families living in Colombia.
The presidential candidate captured his visit to that spot on film. Before entering the area, he met many people who were able to hug him. He also wore the official outfit of the Colombian municipality.
Gutierrez was seen arriving at the church with the traditional Boyacan ruana and the medal of the Virgin of Chiquinquira on his chest, a gesture of faith that he has been demonstrating throughout his political campaign. Remember that Antioquian was one of the Colombian saint, was in Jericho, Antioquia three weeks in the past. Then, he attended a gathering in the birthplace of Mother Laura that was recently blessed and canonized by Pope Francis.
In Chiquinquira the presidential candidate took the occasion to welcome Chiquinquira’s residents and make announcements regarding his plans for the presidential palace. “Key Chiquira’s issues included the provision of the drinking water supply to all its residents, the construction and maintenance of roads (especially Ruta De los Comuneros and Ubate Chiquinquira sections) and tourism as a source of employment.
Fico Gutierrez spoke about the work. He claimed that Tunja was the second-highest rate of unemployment within the nation. So, his government plan seeks “about 2 000 jobs , and the creation of 300 companies for Boyaca”.
He also stated that sustainable mobility should be developed in the department. To achieve this, the he stated that the Strategic Public Transport System structure must be given priority. He said that he intends to keep his efforts to construct roads and cycle routes.
He also tweeted an affirmation message to the producers and farmers of potatoes. His most recent tweet read: “Peasants in Boyaca: We’ll work harder to generate greater income and opportunities for you and change the shape of the field.” Gutierrez will be reaching out to Colombians to let them know about his government plan and to attempt to change the course in the coming elections scheduled for May 29.
