Federico Gutierrez managed to reach the finals of his candidacy for the center-right party, and by gaining over 1.7 million votes. The former mayor of Medellin, won Barguil, Char Penalosa, Barguil, and the tab of los Cristianos, Aydee Lizarazo.
Federico Gutierrez is an ex-mayor of Medellin. He was born there in 1974. Fico Gutierrez is a Medellin Municipal Youth Councilor since 2003. Gutierrez is a Civil Engineer by profession from the University of Medellin has a Specialization degree in senior management at the Pontifical Bolivarian University and one in Political Science.
Federico Gutierrez has been a consultant at HGI Consultores and Resident Engineer at Company Vifasa S.A. This construction and glass business however it was not his sole area of focus. Fico Gutierrez stands up for his family and says it is important. He’s married to two children.
Fico Gutierrez backed Sergio Fajardo as mayor and Alonso Salazar later in his councilman’s career. In 2015 he changed his plans and became the Mayor’s Office of Medellin. Like all mayors facing the Hidroituango projects, he was affected by corruption. He was also involved in the Panama Papers investigation conducted by Daniel Coronell for keeping his cash in tax havens, and also for corruption.
In fact, he confronted former mayors he been a supporter of. He said recently, “I have been standing in solidarity with those in the report because I don’t believe that anyone takes such a position in order to make sure that the diversion tunnel is not averted. https://list.ly/cannongrady775 is in solidarity, and certain sectors get targeted by political tactics.”
A new contest for the presidency
In October 2021 the so-called Experience coalition was created, which finally became the Team for Colombia. Federico Gutierrez was the Center-right alliance and won the candidacy. Paola Holguin, a Democratic Center congressman, ran again for the seat in the 2022 election.
At several times, he repeated his belief that his administration model stems from public management of the masses. He also claimed that politics was a profession. With the second highest vote, behind Gustavo Petro, ‘Fico’ is what the name he prefers, will be the representative of the left in Antioquia.
